Despite the fact that he is not a real person, one of the most inspirational runner is Forrest Gump.
He was a simple gardener from Alabama. When he was a child he had a problem with backbone and always had to be with strange splints. One day, when some other children were chasing him, he began to run and those splints fell off. From that day Forrest was always running. Why to walk if you can run? He became such a good runner that even national American football team took him. Nobody could caught him.
He lived pretty interesting life, but one day, when his love left him, he decided to have a little run. He crossed all Greenbow county and just after that he thought that he can run through all Alabama. After that he decided to reach the ocean. After running so much, he decided why not to run back to the other ocean. Like this he crossed America four times.
What I like about Forrest Gump, that he was running for no particular reason. He just enjoyed running.
Sometimes it is very good to think like Forrest. You just run and enjoy it. You do not think about anything else, there is just you and a path. You forget about everything. Try it, you are going to love it.
Forrest Gump was running for 3 years, two months, 14 days and 16 hours.
Here you can see Forrest Gump running map. It is not very exact, but I made it as precise as I could.
Forrest started to run from Alabama and ran to the Pacific ocean, it is about 1800 miles. From the Pacific ocean he decided to run to the Atlantic ocean in Maine it is about 3312 miles. After this he ran through the USA once more back to the Pacific ocean somewhere not far from Sacramento it is about 3375 miles. And once more back to Maine is 3400 miles, it is a little bit more because of another route. So he totally made 11887 miles (~19019km). That is amazing!
If you are thinking about starting running, watch the movie "Forrest Gump" and I hope one day you will decide to have a little run. Maybe you will love it, maybe you will enjoy it and maybe you will run like Forrest Gump.
